Step 1.  Create an account on Google 

The first step in creating a YouTube channel is to set up your google account.  How does it work?

After opening YouTube you will see the 'Sign in' button in the top right corner , click on 'Sign in' and then sign in using one of your old account or the account you are using.  ۔  If you haven't created a Gmail account yet, create your Gmail account first.  To use YouTube, you must have a Google Account (Gmail account).

  To create a new Google Account, first open YouTube and then click on the 'Sign In' button in the top right corner after that click on "Create an Account" in the bottom left corner.  Then a new page will open where you have to provide your first name, last name, new email address, and password.

  In the next step, you'll be asked to add your phone number and a recovery email address, both of which are used to help keep your account secure.  Below this, you need to include your birthday and gender. However, in the gender field, you can choose "select later" if you wish.

  With your consent, your Google Account is created, then you are automatically logged into YouTube and the main YouTube dashboard is opened in front of you.  If you are logged in using your existing Google Account, you are also taken to this page.  After logging in, you can like and comment on YouTube videos.  Plus, you can create and manage your own channels.



Step 2. Create a YouTube account



Your YouTube account will be created automatically after the first step.  Now, it's time to create your own channel.  You click on your profile icon in the upper right corner.  A drop down menu will appear.  Where you have to click "Create a Channel".

 

 After that, you have to type the name of your YouTube channel then click on "Create YouTube Channel".

  However, YouTube has two types of accounts, a personal account and a brand account.  The big difference between personal and branded accounts is that in a personal account, your Gmail and YouTube channel will have the same name.  If you rename your YouTube channel, your Gmail account will also be renamed.


 By default, you will have a personal account.  If you want to use a different name for your Google Account name on YouTube, you'll need to create a brand account instead of a personal one.

  To create a brand account, sign in to your YouTube account, then click the profile icon in the top right corner, then click "Settings".  On the Settings page, click "Create a New Channel".

  This takes you to a page where you can create your channel name and agree to the Brand Account Terms.

  Once you click "Create" you will have a brand new account channel.  The name will be slightly different from the Google Account.


  You can check if your brand account has been successfully created by signing in or following this link: www.myaccount.google.com/brandaccounts.  If you have a brand account, you'll see a section titled "Your Brand Accounts," with the name of your new channel below.


Step 3. Customise your Youtube channel


If you have a channel, you need to work on it to customise or set up your channel.


  You can do this by going to your channel's dashboard and clicking "Customise Channel" and then from there, you can update the information under Layout, Branding, and Basic information, it's very easy to set up.



Step 4. Use eye-catching channel art and thumbnails


First and foremost, make sure your channel art and thumbnails are attractive because they add four moons to the beauty of your channel.


  Channel Art is a banner on the homepage of your YouTube channel, located at the top of the page. Whenever 

 Thumbnails, on the other hand, are small images that are displayed for each of your videos.  You can make it unique by creating a unique thumbnail for each video. If you create thumbnails on mobile, use Canova, Pick Art and Pixel Lab.


  The banner should match your branding colours, accents and style. By helping to welcome and engage viewers, banners make it easier for viewers to understand your channel and to evaluate what kind of content your channel publishes on YouTube.


 Once your channel art is ready, you can upload it just below the section where you upload your icon.


   The image you will use for channel art must be at least 2048x1152 pixels, with a size of 6MB or less.


 You can create channel art from mobile and also from computer.  There are lots of great mobile software available on the Google Play Store.  Canova, Pick Art, and Pixel Labs are most important, you can also use the premium version for free by searching on Google and downloading the premium version.


Step 5. Choose the perfect channel icon


Your channel's icon is your profile picture on YouTube. Along with your channel's page, viewers see your profile and comment when you comment on videos.

Most people choose a headshot or logo, it should be 800x800 pixels and you choose the logo or images in JPG, BMP, PNG, or GIF formats (no animation).
